How is net salary calculated with an umbrella company in Morocco?

The simulator starts from the revenue you bill (day rate × billed days) and applies, in order, the deductions set by Moroccan law:

The calculation follows 2026 rates (Finance Law 50-25) and the MAD 6,000 monthly CNSS ceiling. It does not include professional expenses or dependant deductions.

  • Management fee charged by the umbrella company, generally 5% to 10% of revenue.
  • Employer charges: 8.98% up to MAD 6,000 of gross pay, then 12.11% on the full gross (family allowances, AMO, vocational training tax).
  • Employee contributions: 4.48% capped at MAD 6,000 plus 2.26% AMO on the full gross.
  • Income tax (IR), progressive from 0% to 37%, after the professional deduction (35% up to MAD 78,000 of annual gross, otherwise 25% capped at MAD 35,000).

Example: a consultant billing MAD 1,500 a day

With a MAD 1,500 day rate, 18 billed days and an 8% management fee, monthly revenue comes to MAD 27,000.

After the management fee (MAD 2,160) and employer charges (MAD 3,164), gross salary is MAD 21,676. Once employee contributions (MAD 759) and income tax (MAD 4,377) are deducted, net pay comes to about MAD 16,540 a month, or 61% of revenue.

Umbrella company or self-employed: what to compare

A self-employed worker pays fewer deductions on paper, but is capped at MAD 200,000 of annual revenue for services and gets no paid leave, employee pension or end-of-contract pay. Umbrella employment costs more, but gives you an employment contract and full employee social protection, with no revenue cap.
